Nestled in the heart of Santiago de Compostela, Caney offers a vibrant slice of Spanish cuisine that captivates locals and travelers alike. Situated at Rua de Alfredo Branas, 5, 15701 Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Spain, this charming Spanish restaurant invites you to indulge in the rich flavors and culinary traditions of Galicia.

As you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that beautifully balances rustic charm with modern elegance. The spacious interior boasts comfortable seating alongside a covered terrace, perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors—even when the typical Santiago rain makes an appearance.

Caney's menu is a delightful homage to traditional Galician fare, showcasing an array of dishes that are both well-prepared and artfully presented. Guests rave about the pulpo (octopus), lightly seasoned to enhance its natural flavors, and the tortilla, which is rich and comforting. The pollito (chicken) is another must-try, delivering tenderness with each bite, while the famed arroz caldoso reminds you why comfort food can also be a fine dining experience. Pair your meal with a glass of Godello or Arienzo wine to elevate the experience even further.

Patrons frequently express their delight with the exemplary service. One customer, Felicia Pruett de Lopez, noted how the friendly staff made her solo dining experience more enjoyable, while others such as Vadim Sluzky were so impressed that they made the rare decision to dine at Caney multiple times during their stay. Diana Araújo appreciated the restaurant's attention to professionalism, praising the diverse menu that accommodates dietary preferences without compromising on flavor—an achievement that is notably challenging in traditional cuisines.

The culinary voyage extends beyond just taste; it is truly an experience. Each dish tells a story of Galician culture and history, inviting diners to embark on a flavorful journey back in time. Marcelo Duffy describes Caney as “an indispensable experience” for anyone wishing to savor authentic local flavors. With every forkful, you’ll feel the passion that the chefs pour into their cooking.

For those looking for a comprehensive dining experience, Caney is more than just a meal; it is an opportunity to create lasting memories. Whether you’re a traveler exploring Santiago or a local wanting to indulge in some classic Galician cuisine, Caney is a destination that promises satisfaction and delight.

Exemplary food and service. We usually don’t eat at the same restaurant twice during our vacations to try multiple choices. We made an exception for this restaurant. Everything was very well cooked and the service was just great

Really excellent food and service. Fish and prawn brochette was excellent, as is the bonito and tomato salad, etc. Good spot.

My brother and I visited after seeing recomendaciones on the net. As we ate at "British time" - 6pm - we had the place to ourselves. The waitress was really helpful and pleasant. The food may have been slightly more expensive than in other places but it was certainly delicious and we were happy with the price. I would like to eat there again.
